Why we are so stressful?

We are living in a world that requires to do things effectively and efficiently. May be we are in the world of competition where ever individual is competing against each other, and countries are competing against countries. Or perhaps we are in the world of global economy where we always can find cheaper alternatives to something that we used to love.

We seem to have entered the age of anxiety, where we are worried that we are going to lose our jobs, our homes, our home or sometimes our sanity. And these anxiety and feelings in fact causes people to be stressed out.

In fact in 2002, Time magazine announced that we entered to the world of anxiety where the constant stress and uncertainties level seems to strike to people daily living and the anxiety effect seemed to be magnified when the terrorist attacks happened in September 11 2001. Some people are still scared and worried something with similar magnitude could be happened even though the incident was happened about 10 years ago.

Natural tragedies or disasters that we see on the news is another stress factor that we are facing. We begin to wonder if the place we live are safe anymore. The current global economy crisis that we are facing, is yet another stressor. Our country is in debt and so are many Americans. With employment rates seem rising everyday and so does food prices, we are more un-secure than we are used to be. Today, it seems more important to bring home the bacon than pursing a dream career.

The needs of women today brings another stress. Some women have different roles in their lives, for example, wives, mums, siblings, daughters, house keepers and so on. The only problem is they never make any time for themselves to get out of the stress rather doing the same routine everyday.

The kids today feel pressure as well. They need to study and make sure they get some extra scholarship so that they can finish high school or even colleges. Some people even find part time that can support their daily expenses which their parents cannot afford anymore. Certainly we are in the veritable pressure cooker!

The access of internet or hand held devices add an extra layer to our already stressful lives. More often we are into what we have to do and not what we want to do. So that's why we are so stressful. We are living to fulfill somebodies else expectations and not stop and think what we want to do, rather than what we have to do.
